Longtime sweethearts, these two are completely at ease and obviously in love with one another. The first time I met them and shot their engagement photos, we had so much fun running around as we explored what felt like most of Ottawa's Experimental Farm. Our last stop I’d never even seen before and it instantly became the backdrop of my favorite shots. You'll have to check out that shoot here.
I’ve forgotten about how Steph found my work, but her approach has been one of my favorites! She sent me an e-mail in the morning and followed up in the afternoon with a private message. I absolutely adored her enthusiasm and excitement to work with me. It made working with her so relaxed and easy despite the extreme heat through the morning and then the torrential downpour right after their ceremony. The skies opened and everyone got drenched. But spirits rallied, we trekked to downtown Ottawa and took a mid-afternoon break as everyone freshened up or changed. The rest of the evening was full of delicious food, moving speeches and an overwhelming feeling of love and joy.
I will never get over that newly married feel, even more now that I'm married. Marriage is such a gift, to be able to live life with your best friend – is there anything better.
